If you remember last week, a huge story in the Hudson Valley involved the New Paltz Planning Board voting not to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

The idea of adding the pledge to the board’s meeting agendas was shot down in a vote of 4-3.

After we talked about this story on the CJ in the morning show, one of the board members Michael Zierler contacted us to see if we could talk more about the situation and try to clear things up a bit.

Michael told us that the planning board hasn't had the Pledge in any of their meetings for as long as he could remember and that the public misconception was that they voted to take the Pledge out of meetings, which isn't true according to Zierler.

If you missed our talk with Michael, take a look at the video from the CJ in the morning show and as only we can do, we saved a nice treat at the end of the video for you.
