Michael J. Ross, a Poughkeepsie Resident, Dies at 96
Michael J. Ross, 96, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died from a broken heart on July 1, 2017 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.
Born on January 10, 1921 in New York City, Michael was the son of Patrick and Margaret Ross. On November 29, 1942 in the Bronx, Michael married the love of his life, Grace Cioffi, who predeceased him on June 18, 2017.
Michael proudly served our country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II where he served in Brindisi, Italy. He worked as a business agent for oil trucks with Local #553 in the Bronx and Manhattan.
Michael is survived by his daughters, Patricia Aglietti, Linda Gilna and Teresa Fierro; his 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his caretaker, Marissa Vega.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 11:30am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc.
