The Mets are coming north a little early out of Spring Training, but they're not stopping in Queens. They'll keep heading north all the way in the Hudson Valley. West Point, to be exact.

Pitchers and catcher for the Mets will report on February 13th, and about a month and a half later, they'll finish Spring Training by playing against the Black Knights in West Point, according to Adam Rubin. They'll open the season 3 days later at Citi Field against the Atlanta Braves.

I've never heard of the Mets ending their Spring Training like this before, but I think it's a terrific way to show some support to the US Armed Forces, and bringing attention to a team that might normally be overshadowed by their football counterpart.

As of right now, it doesn't appear that tickets have been released yet, but considering that we're past the middle of January, that should be happening soon. And when those tickets do become available, they're most likely going to sell out FAST.
