Leona “Lee” Alberti Quick, 89, a resident of Beacon, passed away after a brief illness on September 2, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on August 10, 1927 in Windham, NY, Lee was one of eight children of Elmer and Nellie (Tompkins) Alberti. She was a graduate of WAU Central School in Windham and Ballard School of Nursing in NYC. She worked as a staff nurse at Beth El Hospital in Brooklyn, Margaretville Hospital in Margaretville, and St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Lee was also the office nurse for Dr. Dreishpoon, Dr. Stall, and Dr. Cohen in Poughkeepsie.

Lee enjoyed the occasional Stinger, along with traveling, fishing and golfing with her husband. She was a former member of Osiris Country Club in Walden and Southern Dutchess Country Club in Beacon. She was a Hospice volunteer from 1996 – 2005.

On May 21, 1950, Lee was married to William C. Quick in Port Ewen, NY. William was the former 1st Deputy Commissioner for the NYS Department of Corrections who predeceased her on December 15, 1998. Lee was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Montague and her husband Joseph of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Michael Montague and his wife Elizabeth of Manhattan, and Lisa DeMeo and her husband Anthony of Poughkeepsie; and her great granddaughters, Marguerite and Alivia Leigh DeMeo. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Clyde, Leslie, Richard, Donald and Elmer Alberti; and her sisters, Alice Cacchillo and Marjorie Stafford.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon followed by interment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Gardiner.
