No matter your political views, if you want your vote to count, Friday is the last day to register to vote for November's election.

Prospective voters can register online at dmv.ny.gov, in person at a local board of elections office, or by mail.

Applications by mail, must be postmarked by Friday Oct. 9. In order to be eligible to vote, the letter must be received by Oct. 19.

If you are ensure if you are registered to vote, you can check your status at the New York State Board of Elections website.

To be eligible to vote in New York you must have lived at a New York address since Oct. 9, be a United States citizen, be 18-years-old by election day and not be a convicted felon.

The general election is on Nov. 8.

Besides the presidential election, in New York 27 congressional seats, a U.S. Senate seat and all 213 posts in the state Legislature are up for grabs.
