Kenneth LeRoy Miller, of West Point, a retired member of the U.S. Navy as well as a  COR for the U.S.M.A at West Point and a long-time resident of the area, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, November 10, 2016.  Kenneth was 77 years old.

The son of the late Kenneth Stanley and Beatrice (Buzby) Miller, Kenneth was born in Abington, PA on March 11, 1939.  Upon graduating from high school, Kenneth entered the U.S. Navy and earned the rank of E8 MMCS and upon his return home, he continued his service to our country at the U.S.M.A at West Point.  His beloved lifetime companion, Judith A. Wood, resides at home.

Kenneth was a great companion, father, uncle & friend to lots of people.  Having served our country in the U.S. Navy for over 21 years, he completed his career as a civil servant at U.S.M.A at West Point.  He traveled the United States for many years.   Kenneth was a lifetime member of the Maybrook VFW Post 2064, and the New Paltz Elks Lodge #2568 for over 20 years.

In addition to his devoted and caring companion, Judith, Kenneth is survived by his loving children, Thomas Charles Miller and his wife, Dana of VA, Carla Meade and her husband, Bill of VA; Charlene Atkins of MI and Michael Miller of VA;  stepsons, Walter L. Wood and his wife , Pamela of New Jersey, and Kenneth Wood of VA and Timothy Wood and his wife, Heidi of PA; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Diane Hoover of PA; a step-brother, Lawton Miller of WA; step-sisters, Madelyn Goodwin of OK and Kendlyn Morgan of CA  and lots of nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by a brother, Gerald, brother-in-law, Charles Hoover, step-dad, Milt.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, January 14 at The Elk's Lodge #2568, 290 Rt. 32, New Paltz, NY.
