Before you get ready to cut some powder this winter you may want to check out this free upcoming safety course for snowmobile riders.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department in conjunction with the Columbia County Snow Drifters have announced their seventh annual snowmobile safety course. The event will be held February 4th from 8am-4pm at the Columbia County Sheriff's Office located at 85 Industrial Tk, in Hudson NY.

The course focuses on the fundamentals of snowmobiling, information all riders should know to ensure a safe ride each and every time they hit the trails. The course will be taught by Sheriff Dave Bartlett along with Deputy Sheriffs from the Columbia County Sheriffs office. Upon successful completion of the course riders will receive a NYS Snowmobile Safety Certificate.
