Jessie Marie Brauser, 82, a resident of Cold Spring and formerly of Verplanck and Bolton Landing, died on February 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Bolton Landing on January 12, 1935, she was the daughter of Walter and Madeline (Burgess) Ross. Jessie was employed by BOCES in Valhalla for 18 years until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of The Episcopal Church of St Mary-in-the-Highlands, and enjoyed knitting, reading books, spending summers at camp, playing solitaire, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite bird was the cardinal, and she loved spending time with her family.

On October 29, 1965 in Bolton Landing, Jessie married Allen M. Brauser who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters and their husbands, Wendy and William Stinson of Fishkill, Bonnie and William O’Rourke of Bolton Landing, and Betsy and Keith Ackley of Pine Plains; grandchildren, Joseph Stinson, Amie Sawyer, Maggie Wood, and Cassandra Pavel; her 5 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Margie Duggan, Audrey Vernon and Louis Ross; and her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Iva Reed and Walter Ross Jr.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12:00pm at The Episcopal Church of St Mary-in-the-Highlands, 1 Chestnut Street, Cold Spring. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
