Police Save Life Using Narcan in Ulster County
Another Hudson Valley resident has been saved from an overdose by police.
Police officers in Ulster County were able to save a person from a possible overdose early Wednesday morning, in what is becoming an all to common trend here in the Hudson Valley.
On Wednesday morning just before 6:30 am, Saugerties police responded to a diner for a 911 call reporting that a person had possibly overdosed in the parking lot.
Once on the scene, Sergeant Derek Fallon and Officer David Stoutenburgh located Daniel V. Keogan, 37 of Saugerties, seated in a vehicle in the parking lot.
Keogan was unconscious and unresponsive. Officers removed Keogan from the vehicle and began life-saving measures. Officers administered four doses of Narcan in addition to initiating CPR.
Officers were able to revive Keogan at the scene. He was transported to Kingston Hospital via ambulance.
