I'm not sure if i'm just looking for it now, or it's one of those right place/right time (actually wrong place/wrong time) situations, but how is it possible that i've seen this happen in this exact same location multiple times recently?

We've been covering it a lot lately, both written and through discussions on the air, the fact that so people drive insanely on Hudson Valley roads. It has reached a point that the maneuvers people regularly make on busy roadways can be a bit scary.

Remember When This Driver Made This Illegal Move in Poughkeepsie?

It has been almost one year to the day since the first time I was sitting at this busy Poughkeepsie intersection when I noticed this bonehead move. There I am, watching a fellow motorist go too far, get stuck when the light changed, to the point where other cars needed to back up into the turning lane to avoid a major situation.

I think about the driver of that red car pretty often, and how they sat there in the MIDDLE of the road, looking straight ahead probably wanting to disappear, but yet still causing a major situation for all the other cars trying to get by.

REMEMBER WHEN: I Watched A Car Make An Illegal U-Turn Over A Median In This Same Spot?

It Happened Again...In The Very Same Intersection

Again, nearly a year later here I am, in the same spot, waiting to make the same left onto Rt. 9 South from that Rt. 9G extension across from Marist.

I had to laugh when I looked up and saw it again, with my own eyes, a car in the very same spot, stuck in the middle of the intersection, doing the ol' reverse back into the lane maneuver.

Is there something with this light? Does it turn too quickly or are drivers in this area just in that much of a rush/overestimating the amount of time it takes to turn? Who knows...
