Toys R Us closed all their stores nationwide at the end of June 2018.

Could Toys R US make a comeback in the Hudson Valley? It's possible. Pix 11 News reports that Geoffrey, LLC has canceled the auction of its brand name, Toys R Us, and other properties, such as Babies R Us.

The article reports that the top lenders of Geoffrey, LLC have found a new way to revive the Toys R Us and Babies R Us brands. The plan is to have new owners take over the brands to open a new domestic retail business. However, the reorganization is waiting to be approved by the US Bankruptcy Court.

In the meantime, old Toys R Us buildings across the Hudson Valley remain empty or awaiting auction. It was rumored that Trader Joe's was trying to buy an old Toys R Us Building. A list of small retail stores had also taken interest in the old Toys R Us buildings. Even a new toy store is opening at an old Toys R Us.

Toys R Us has locations in Poughkeepsie, Middletown, Kingston, and the Woodbury Commons Outlets.
