Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

Stopping by our studios this week was Michelle Hathaway; Director of Development Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan to talk about not only the Community Foundation but Hudson Valley Gives as well.

We talked about how the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan works, who it can benefit and the many ways individuals throughout the Hudson Valley can start funds to help future generations through scholarships, grants, etc.

We also spoke about the 2nd annual Hudson Valley Gives, a day of giving on May 17, 2017. It’s a 24-Hour online fundraising events that gives Hudson Valley non-profits a chance to reach more people with their message and raise more funds for their organization. As a donor, you choose exactly where you want your money to go, as they say give to what you love. There's also still time for non-profit organizations to register to be part of this day.

New this year, are two contests ahead of the day of giving, one involving billboards and the other t-shirts.  Michelle explains everything beautifully in this week's show.
