If you are familiar with Mike's Diner on Route 32 in Cairo, New York you know that they offer a great menu and they post daily specials. Just this past Thursday they posted a 10% off for Veterans special which they may do often, I am just getting to know MIke's

Cairo New York Diner Uses Specials Board to Tell Customers they are Closed

This may be the part when you ask if I have never eaten there why am I talking about Mike's Diner? Simple, one of their Facebook posts caught my eye and I had to share. What I love about the post was not the honesty of it but the fact that the post also included a "help wanted" message.

From the comments left on the post and the fact that it seems Mike's was open for breakfast and lunch, the rest of the week here is to hoping someone got a job and Mike's customers don't have to worry about any further closures.

If you looking for a food road trip maybe consider a rider to Cairo to check out Mike's Diner. A place that serves Banana Walnut Pancakes and Turkey Reuben with fries at the prices they post on their special board is worth the drive.
