
Could This Town Be One Of The Most Educated Within The Hudson Valley?
I’ve never thought about which area of the Hudson Valley could be the most educated. We have great schools within the area. Our colleges have good reputations and students come from different states to attend New York state colleges.
What Colleges Are Located In The Hudson Valley?
I would say that one of the most popular colleges in the Hudson Valley is Marist College/University in Poughkeepsie, NY. Along with Marist, Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY is also my guess.
There’s Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY along with SUNY colleges as well. SUNY New Paltz is another college that I believe to be popular within the area along with the community colleges including Orange, Ulster, Dutchess and Hudson Valley.
Residents don't have to travel far if they want to receive a great education and stay within New York state. Upstate New York is also the home to many colleges.
SUNY Oneonta, Oswego, Cortland and Delhi are popular colleges that a lot of my friends and acquaintances have attended.
When I was applying at colleges after high school, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in Communications and Broadcasting. Thankfully, I accomplished this and I’m thankful for all of the great options within New York state.
New York Upstate shared interesting information about some of the most educated areas in the state. They also included that some of these areas are known for being
“The most educated places in the U.S.”

What New York State Towns Were On The List Of Being 'The Most Educated'?
New York Upstate shared a chart that highlights 'the most educated places' in New York state. This information was calculated by the 2023 Census. These calculations were based on the percentage of people that had a graduate degree along with the percentage of people who had a bachelor degree or above that.
Ithaca was on the top of the list! Coming in at second place was the Albany, Schenectady and Troy area.
On the third part of this list was the New York, New Jersey area.

Could This Town Be 'The Most Educated' Within The Hudson Valley?
I was surprised yet excited when I saw that this New York state area was on the list.
Kingston, NY has 17.1% of people with a graduate degree and 39.1% with a bachelor degree or above, according to New York Upstate.
Also on the list is the Kiryas Joel, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh areas with 16.6% of people with graduate degrees and 36.2% of people with a bachelor degree or higher.
Monticello, NY was on the list and has 14.1% of people who have a graduate degree and 30.0% with a bachelor degree or higher, also according to New York Upstate.
If we were guessing based on what we thought about the selection of most educated towns would be in the Hudson Valley, I would have guessed the New Paltz, NY area.
Since the Census doesn’t lie, we can see which Hudson Valley areas are noted for being some of the most educated, which is good to know!
