Hudson Valley Man Dead, Teen Injured After Shooting
Police are still searching suspects after a man was gunned down and a teen injured following a shooting in the Hudson Valley.
On Saturday around 11:15 p.m., the City of Newburgh Police Department received a "Shot Spotter" notification of several rounds being fired in the area of Liberty Street and Clinton Street.
Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was placed in the back of a police vehicle and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. The man was later identified as 18-year-old Almighty Ward of the City of Newburgh. His injuries were non-life threatening, police say.
Soon, police found another gunshot victim with a wound to his neck. The second shooting victim, 35-year-old Aned Alberto Alvarado-Baquedano, was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital.
