So, you've recently upgraded to a  new laptop, cell phone, tablet, microwave, television, or any other electronic device that makes your life easier. Congratulations, now the question is, what do you do with the old stuff?

You can’t just put them in a garbage bag and toss them in the trash can, but you can dispose of them safely by bringing them to the Household Hazardous Disposal and Electronics Recycling Day Dutchess County.

You can bring any hazardous household waste such as pool chemicals, pesticides, aerosol containers, chemicals, antifreeze, automotive and household batteries, cleaners, motor oil and other automotive products, paint, and/ or electronics.

It's being held by the Dutchess County Division of Solid Waste Management on Saturday, June 24 from 8 until 1:30 at the Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency, 96 Sand Dock Road in Poughkeepsie.

A $10 registration fee is required and the registration deadline is Wednesday, June 21. Imagine how much better you’ll feel knowing that these hazardous materials are no longer in your home and around your family.
