Governor’s Ball Music Festival Enacts New Age Policy for 2020
The Governor's Ball Music Festival in New York City has enacted a new age policy going forward for the upcoming 2020 event.
The Governor's Ball Music Festival is the first modern-day music festival in New York State. The three-day festival kicked off in 2011 and has gotten bigger and better since. So big, that the parent company of the fest has decided to put a new age policy in place. What used to be a free for all of any ages, now requires parents.
If you are 18 and over, good news-no restrictions apply to you except needing a valid ID, according to their website. If you are 17 and under, you must attend with an adult who is 21 and older with a valid form of ID. An adult 21 and older may accompany up to two ticket holders aged 17 and younger and you must arrive together, at the same entrance, with valid tickets/wristbands. If you are 5 and under, you also need someone 21 and older with valid ID to attend but do not need a ticket/wristband.
Acceptable valid IDs are a U.S. government-issued driver's license or ID card displaying a picture and date of birth, a U.S. or foreign government-issued passport displaying a picture and date of birth, or a foreign government-issued drivers license with a color photocopy of a foreign government-issued passport with both documents displaying a picture and date of birth. Unacceptable IDs are school ID cards, consular ID cards, expired ID cards of any kind, even if on the acceptable list, birth certificates, and photocopies of anyID except as noted on the acceptable list, according to their website.
