Geraldine McMurtrie, 84, entered into rest Tuesday, February 13, 2018. The daughter of the late Victor and Helen (MacDowell) Napello, she was born January 25, 1934 in Newburgh. She was married to the late Clarence McMurtrie, who predeceased her on April 20, 2017.

Mom was a happy, caring, easy-going person. She served as a bookkeeper for our father's business, Max's Cleaning Service. She enjoyed Broadway shows, eating out, and tending to the many flowers in her yard, but most of all she loved family gatherings when everyone was together. She will be dearly missed, but lovingly remembered as the best mother ever.

Survivors include her children, Randy McMurtrie and wife Valerie of Newburgh and Stephanie Bloomer and husband Frank of Cornwall; grandchildren, Stephen and Briana Bloomer, and Sara and Molly McMurtrie; her sister Beverly Sharp and husband Sandy; nieces Lauren Price, Lori Bell and Ondrea Sharp McCarvel; as well as great-nieces, great nephews, and a great-great nephew. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Ronald Napello, and brother-in-law Clifford McMurtrie.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, February 16 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
