A man is facing burglary and assault charges following a fight in Poughkeepsie.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department reports the arrest of William Green Jr following a report of a domestic dispute.

Officers arrived at the apartment and observed Green being restrained on the ground by a male subject. Officers separated all parties involved.

A police investigation determined that Green had been involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend earlier in the evening. A neighbor heard Green and his girlfriend arguing and attempted to calm the situation down.

The female occupant attempted to stop Green. Green then began to punch the female occupant. Other uninvolved neighbors heard the disturbance and responded to the apartment and restrained Green until the police arrived.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for their injuries where they were treated and released.

Green was charged with Burglary in the First Degree (Felony) and 2 counts of Assault in the Second Degree (Felony).

Green was arraigned before Judge Sullivan in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and
