The Dutchess County SPCA and Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health are offering a free rabies clinic.

According to a Facebook post on the Dutchess County Government's page, there will be a free rabies vaccination clinic later this month. This is being held by the Dutchess County SPCA and Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health. The clinic will be held at the DCSPCA at 636 Violate Avenue in Hyde Park on August 29, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Any dog, cat, or domestic ferret can get their rabies vaccinations for free at this clinic, according to the Facebook post. However, pre-registration is required. You can register at DCSPCA.org. No walk-ins will be allowed. You can see the full Facebook post below:

When you arrive at the clinic, all dogs must be on a leash. Cats and domestic ferrets must be in carriers. These vaccinations are good for three years with proper proof of prior immunization, according to the post. Without proof, the vaccination will be good for one year. When you enter the clinic, you are asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing throughout the event.
