Dorothy Barbara Cebron, a Fishkill resident since 2007 and formerly of Yorktown Heights, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 93.
Daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Samochinski) Mlinar, she was born in Johnstown, PA on July 14, 1923.
On May 11, 1946, she married Joseph Cebron. Dorothy and her husband moved to Yorktown Heights in 1956, where they were members of St. Patrick’s Church. She worked as a sales clerk at Woolworths in Peekskill.
She was predeceased by her husband on December 29, 1996.
Dorothy’s hobbies included collecting figurines, especially those related to Santa Claus and Christmas. She delighted in playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always kept in contact with her family and friends. She always remained abreast of current events and read the news on her tablet. Since residing in Dutchess County, she had attended St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bondi of Fishkill; her son, Joseph Robert Cebron of Orland, PA; her son, Donald Cebron of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kristen Cox (Anthony) of Poughkeepsie, Lauren Bunting (David) of Bethel, CT, Noelle Powell (Matthew) of Orland, PA, and Joseph Cebron (Danielle) of Poughkeepsie; her great-grandchildren, Aidan & Tessa Cox, Alison & Liam Bunting, Brae and Casen Powell, and Emilee Cebron; her sister-in-law, Irene Cebron of Danbury, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was also predeceased by six sisters and four brothers: Mary, Elizabeth, Kate, Margaret, Helen, Ann, Joseph, Michael, John, and Steven.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 17th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18th at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, followed by entombment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
