Don’t Ever Do This In The Dressing Room
Alright, we need to chat about dressing room etiquette.
When you go shopping for clothes, there's a good chance you may have to try an article of clothing on in the dressing room. It's a normal thing, but there has to be some rules or guidelines to follow when doing so, right?
There was always a formula for the dressing room, at least from what I remember. You tell the attendant how many articles of clothing you have, and they gave you a tag that had that particular number on it. So, if you go in with three shirts, you come out with three shirts. Makes sense.
My latest experience with a dressing room, was quite different than any other. It was very unorganized, and hectic, as it was back-to-school. As I waited on line to try on a pair of jeans, I had a chance to observed why the line was getting so long.
Now, there were parents making their kids try on clothes, which being a parent I know isn't fun. But, I witnessed many parents leaving their children in the dressing rooms while they walked around the store grabbing more clothes for them to try on.
I'm pretty sure this isn't how it works, and I see it as being very ignorant especially when there's a line almost 10 people deep. I understand that its busy and your kid needs clothes, but why not gather all your things before going to the dressing room? Wouldn't that make sense?
If it was only one parent doing this, I wouldn't necessarily care. But, considering there was multiple parents doing the same thing, it was really annoying. It seems like any consideration for other people has disappeared in our self-indulged, "I'm more important than everybody else" society.
Do you feel there is a lack of dressing room etiquette in today's world? Leave your comments.
Rant concluded.
