Donald Trump Appoints Hudson Valley Man To Senior White House Position
President-elect Donald Trump gave a Hudson Valley man one of the highest titles in the White House.
On Thursday, Trump appointed Dan Scavino Jr., of Hopewell Junction, as an Assistant to the President, the highest designation in the West Wing, and Director of Social Media.
Trump also named Sean Spicer Assistant to the President and Press Secretary, Hope Hicks Assistant to the President and Director of Strategic Communications and Jason Miller Assistant to the President and Director of Communications.
"Sean, Hope, Jason and Dan have been key members of my team during the campaign and transition," Trump stated. "I am excited they will be leading the team that will communicate my agenda that will Make America Great Again."
On Twitter, Scavino tweeted that he was honored to join Trump and others at the White House.
Scavino met Trump in 1990 at the age of 16, when he was selected to caddie for the real-estate mogul’s party at the Briar Hall Country Club, CNN reports.
Scavino would go on the travel the world with Trump and appeared in an episode of “The Apprentice.” He was the social media director for Trump’s campaign and transition team.
