Does it work?

According to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Division of Consumer Affairs, if you want to reduce the amount of sales calls to your phone number you can sign up for the National Do Not Call Registry.

But will it stop all unwanted calls?

Short answer is no, because scam company's pretty much ignore the do not call list unlike most legitimate companies, who won't call numbers that are on the registry.

If you have signed up for the do not call list and you still get these calls, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Division of Consumer Affairs says to hang up the phone and make sure you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

If you want to sign up you can do it at donotcall.gov, or by calling 888-382-1222.

Remember if you do sign up you will still receive some annoying calls like, political calls, debt collection calls, information calls and telephone survey calls.
