Claire Silverman, a Poughkeepsie Resident, Dies at 87

Claire Silverman, 87 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Pines in Poughkeepsie, NY. Claire was born on June 18, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Keith and Rose Eisman Bershatsky. She married Norman Silverman on July 15, 1950 in Manhattan, NY and survives at home.
Claire was previously employed as a Teacher's Assistant with the City of NY Board of Education.
In addition to her husband, Claire is survived by her daughters Anita and Robert Stern of Wappingers Falls, NY, Gayle and Alan Uffer of Poughkeepsie, NY, grandchildren Karyn, Jodi, Joshua, Jason and Keith, great-grandchildren Judah, Maxwell, Eli, Lana, Sadie, Nora and Nathaniel. Claire is predeceased by her brother Harris Bershatsky .
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10:30am at the Temple Beth-El Cemetery, Rt. 44, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 with the Rabbi Daniel Victor officiating.
