Charles T. Daniele, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Charlie was a lifelong resident of Millbrook born on September 23, 1931 to the late Assunta DeBonis and Pasquale Daniele. On December 11, 1960 he married Joanne Waryas at St. Joseph’s Church in Poughkeepsie.

Charlie graduated from Millbrook High School and SUNY Canton. After working for a short time at GE in Schenectady, he joined the US Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. After the service, he attended Indiana Technical Institute in Fort Wayne Indiana for a refresher course. He then went to work for IBM as a mechanical designer on the 360 System and later as a buyer and then as a laboratory manager of Product Safety and Security retiring in 1990 after 34 years of service.

Charlie was a life member of VFW Post 9008 and the American Legion Post 260 both of Millbrook. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Charlie was a fan of the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. Charlie loved fishing, hunting and camping with his children every summer at Camp Waubeeka in Copake, New York. After retirement, he and Joanne loved travelling in their motor home all over the country including trips to 42 states and numerous trips in the spring and fall to Port Richey, Florida.

Charlie was a loving husband, father and “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren. Charlie loved and cherished his family above all. Charlie is survived by his wife Joanne, of 56 years, his daughter Susan Volino and her husband Michael and grandson Mitchell of Millbrook, his son Robert and his wife Jennifer and grandchildren Charlie, Audrey, and Owen of North Haven Connecticut and his son Richard of Millbrook. Charlie was predeceased by an infant grandson, Nicholas Michael  Volino in 1994.

Charlie is also survived by his sister Mafalda Bartolomei of New Port Richey Florida, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Louis and Jimmy and sister Mary.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 14 from 11 am - 12:30 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 14 at 1 pm from St. Stanislaus Church, Main St., Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook.
