America's most popular Valentine's Day candy will be unavailable for 2019.

CNBC reports that Sweethearts, aka conversation hearts, aka candy hearts, will not be available anywhere for sale this Valentine's Day. Necco, the original manufacturer of the candy, went out of business in 2018.

However, Spangler Candy Company now owns the Sweetheart candy. They hope to have the candy back for Valentine's Day 2020. According to NBC, Spangler Candy Company acquired the Sweetheart candy in September 2018 and didn't have time to produce the candy for Valentine's Day 2019.

Spangler Candy Company's most popular candy is Dum Dum lollipops, as reported by CNBC. Spangler Candy Company will also be relaunching Necco wafers later this year.

If you were thinking that chocolates were the most popular Valentine's Day candy, you're wrong. CNBC reports that candystore.com said the Sweetheart conversation hearts were actually the most popular for the holiday in 2018.

I'm sure your sweetheart will still love chocolates for Valentine's Day this year, but flowers and dinner are never bad choices either, just saying!
