Everybody who knows me or who listens to The Boris and Robyn Show knows that I am all for legalizing marijuana. And mostly, people think I’m a stoner, but my reasons for wanting legal pot go way beyond that. I really think it can change lives, but it has to be legal in order for that to happen. The right pot in the right hands can do wonders. But the wrong pot can lead to a horrible experience.

Legalize pot? You bet. Because if we’re going to smoke or vape or eat it, we should do it right, and that will only happen if it’s legal.

For years I could smoke just about any pot I came across and I enjoyed it every time. Then, a few years back, I started getting anxiety sometimes when I would smoke. But only sometimes. I didn’t know a lot about different strains, but I knew I didn’t want to give up smoking altogether, so I decided to do some investigating. This is when I learned about indica vs. sativa. Indica brings on a mellow experience. Sativa does not. It’s more of a buzzy high. And I realized when I smoked indica I was happy and relaxed, but when I smoked sativa I was full of anxiety. I’m lucky to know people who know the difference and now I only smoke indica.

There are people like me who have bad reactions from certain strains. And without having someone to guide them, they may never get the benefits that they want or need from marijuana. In fact, they may write it off because of a bad experience, and never get to try something that could possibly make them feel physically and mentally better than ever. I have seen shy people come out of their shells, nervous people relax, and people with no appetite become hungry. All because of pot. The right pot for them. I’ve also seen people get paranoid and scared because they smoked the wrong strain for them.

If recreational pot was legal, anyone (of legal age) could go to a dispensary and talk to a knowledgeable person about their needs and wants, and more importantly what they don’t want to feel.

Safety is another issue. It’s rare, but these days you hear stories about pot being laced with all sorts of drugs, including fentanyl which can be deadly. If marijuana is legal and regulated, we know what we’re buying and that it’s safe for consumption.

Legalize pot? You bet. Because if we’re going to smoke or vape or eat it, we should do it right, and that will only happen if it’s legal. Thoughts? I’d love to hear yours.
