Graduation season is upon us, which means school is almost out and the kids need something to do this summer.

If you're a Dutchess County parent, a few of the local parks are offering up some great opportunities for kids this summer. For kids from ages 9 to 17 there are a handful of popular summer programs being offered at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers and Wilcox Park in Milan.

In a press release it was announced that programs will be offered teaching kids survival skills all while having a fun camp experience.

"Dutchess County’s summer programs feature hands-on activities such as hiking, starting campfires, finding food and water and other survival skills, tracking, archery, Nerf tag, and building group problem solving skills"

The programs are four day sessions starting at 9:30am and running until 4pm, each session costs $170. Due to popular demand each child is limited to one session for each program.

Programs at Bowdoin range from Living Survival for teens ages 15 to 17 to Adventure Day Program for kids ages 9 to 11

Wilcox Park offers similar programs such as Complete Survival for kids 12 to 14.
