Two people were arrested after police in the Hudson Valley allegedly seized around $40,000 worth of heroin from their home.

On Wednesday, State Police at Liberty, the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office jointly executed a search warrant at a home on State Route 17B in the Town of Bethel.

The search was conducted following a police investigation into heroin sales from the home. Police say they found more than 4,000 individually packaged bags of heroin, $4,000 in cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

Randloph Dauch and Rhandye Dauch, both 61 from White Lake, were both charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class B felonies.

“Because heroin continues to pose a significant threat to the health, safety and well-being of our community, we will continue to investigate, apprehend and prosecute those responsible for distributing this dangerous drug throughout Sullivan County,” Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell stated.

The street value of the seized heroin is around $40,000, officials say.

Both Randolph and Rhandye Dauch were arraigned in the Town of Bethel Justice Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $150,000 bail.

The State Police were assisted by the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, the Bethel Constables and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in this heroin distribution investigation, which is ongoing.
