Earlier today, only Sullivan County was placed under a Winter Weather Advisory by the National Weather Service, but that has all changed.

The National Weather Service has now issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Ulster and Dutchess Counties from 4 pm tomorrow until 6 am on Saturday, December 22.  So, what can you expect from this system?

Towns in these counties could see mixed precipitation, leading to slippery road conditions, particularly for the Friday evening commute. In terms of snow accumulations, we could see 1 to 2 inches of the white stuff on the ground with up to a tenth of an inch of ice on top of that. All of this adds up to what could be dangerous driving conditions.

If you were hoping to get some last minute Christmas shopping in after work tomorrow, please be careful and check the road conditions before heading out.  Remember, you can find out the latest road conditions in your area by calling 5-1-1.
