Walter W. Davidson, III of Town of Newburgh, a retired project manager, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was 70.

Son of the late Walter W. and Catherine (DeVenuto) Davidson, Jr. he was born January 15, 1947 in Newburgh. He is survived by his wife Camille (Romano) Davidson. They were married October 5, 1968 in Plattekill.

Walt was active in many organizations. He was Past Chief, Past President and a Commissioner of the Plattekill Fire Department; a founding member of Troop-79, Boy Scouts of America where he was a former Scoutmaster; member of Rotary International, Sons of the American Revolution, Plattekill Rod and Gun Club, parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Camille at home include two sons, William W. (Donna) Davidson of Marlboro, Christian P. (Lauren) Davidson of Briarcliff Manor; two daughters, Bernadette M. Davidson of Old Bridge, NJ, Angela R. (T.J.) Gastio of Gardiner; one brother, Wayne A. (Rhonda) Davidson of Riverton, WY; one sister, Gale M. Davidson of Phoenix, AZ; and five grandchildren, Ava, Logan, Nicholas, Anna and Elliott. Walt is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Memorial visitation for family and friends will take place from 1 to 5pm, Saturday, March 11that White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road (Route 32) Newburgh.

A fireman's service will commence at 4:00 pm and a memorial service will commence at 4:30pm. The Rev. Dr. Shane Scott-Hamblen will officiate.
