Two men in their twenties were found dead, hours after each other, on Saturday in the same Hudson Valley town.

On Saturday around 1:30 a.m., Stony Point Police responded to the area of the James A. Farley Bridge for a report of a male attempting to jump from the bridge.

When officers arrived they were told by witnesses that a man did jump from the bridge into the park below.

Police found an unnamed 24-year-old male inside the Charles Eccher Park. He was found unresponsive and likely deceased as a result of trauma from the fall.

Later on Saturday, just after 10:00 a.m., Stony Point Police responded to the area of the Route 210 and Cedar Flats Road for a report of a male submerged in the Cedar brook.

Responding officers found the body of 25-year-old, Nicholas Cohen, of Stony Point deceased in the brook. His body was removed from the water by the Wayne Hose Fire Department

Officials say the investigation is continuing in both cases but neither deaths appears suspicious.

Both bodies were removed by the R.C. Medical Examiner’s office for a determination on the cause of deaths

The Stony Point Police Department was assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s BCI and Rockland Paramedics, Haverstraw Town Police Department, NY State Park Police, Wayne Hose Fire Department Rockland Paramedics, and the R.C. Medical Examiner’s Office.
