Many Hudson Valley residents will be on a quest from county to county this week looking for the perfect Christmas tree.

It wont be difficult to find a tree, even though there are rumors of a Christmas tree shortage this year, the Hudson Valley is filled with awesome family farms.

Unfortunately, some folks wont be home for the holidays- like our friends in the military. While we enjoy time spent with friends and family they will be fighting and protecting our freedoms. However, there is a special organization spreading holiday cheer to the men and women in uniform.

Tree's for Troops has been in existance since 2005 and has delivered trees to over 170,000 military troops and families with the help of FedEx. Farms across the United States will donate their Christmas trees to be sent to military bases in the U.S and overseas.

This year West Point will be receiving their donated Christmas trees on December 5th to provide them with a little holiday cheer through the month of December.

All military bases will have their trees before Christmas. Find out how you can help out Trees for Troops at christmasspiritfoundation.org.
