This Saturday and Sunday it is the OCNY West Maplefest at Finding Home Farms at 140 Eatontown Road in Middletown. If you are a lover of maple syrup you will want to put this event on the calendar this weekend. As a child, it always mystified me growing up on "Maple Road" how maple syrup came from trees. None of my direct family ever farmed so as you can imagine I didn't get a very accurate answer. It wasn't until college that I saw my first sap bucket hanging from a tree.

Finding Home Farms is inviting you to come out for a tour of their maple sugar house, maple cotton candy, tastings and all things maple that they have happening on the farm. They will even be sharing maple recipes. You can participate in the OCNY West scavenger hunt and win prizes that include a getaway weekend. They have also planned for live music and food throughout the day.

It is not just about the maple syrup process this weekend. You can also enjoy a mini wellness retreat. There will be crafts and story time for the kids. And you have to check out the "Favorite Thing Boutique."

It is important you register for a time slot and you will need tickets. Getting tickets in advance is recommended. If there is still room there will be a handful of tickets sold at the door. OCNY West Maplefest is Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.

Listen to Paty Quyn weekday afternoons from 3PM to 7PM on The Wolf. Stream us live through the website, Alexa-enabled device, Google Home or The Wolf mobile app.
