Love is in the air, and technically Valentine's weekend kicks off Friday. You can really impress your loved one with these awesome love-themed events.

1. Cupcake and Wine Pairing
Cupcakes and wine? Count me in. This event is going on February 10-11 and 17-18 at Robibero Winery in New Paltz. The cupcakes are being made by Moxie Cupcakes. You know, the bakery that closed in New Paltz that left everyone sad? Tickets are selling quick so make sure to get yours!

2. Chocolate Lolipop Making
Everyone knows Valentine's Day is all about the candy, so why not make your own with the kids? The class is Sunday, Feb. 11 at Eat This Bakery in Montgomery.

3. Vintage Valentines Indoor Flea Market
Valentine's doesn't have to be traditional. If you're looking to mix it up this year, take your special someone to Darkside Records in Poughkeepsie for their vintage Valentine's indoor flea market on Saturday, Feb. 10. Lots of independent, local Hudson Valley businesses will be there too. What better way to show love to everyone? If you stay a little later, they have the Vinyl Is For Lovers concert.

4. Cheese, Chocolate, and Wine Pairing
If you can't tell already, I love wine pairings. If you want to take a savory route, instead of sweet like the cupcakes, go to Benmarl Winery in Marlboro. All the wines are paired with New York State cheeses and chocolates. Another great way to celebrate love and local businesses!

5. Family Valentine's Yoga
The thought of Valentine's Day might stress you out. So relax with the family at a Special Valentines Family Restorative Yoga. It's Sunday, Feb 11 at the Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie. No experience is necessary, but pre-registration is required.

Remember, everyone wants to have plans for Valentine's. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
