If you're looking at nursing homes for a loved one, you're going to want to read this to find out the cost in the Hudson Valley.

The Buffalo News reports that the most expensive nursing home, in all of New York State, is located right here in the Hudson Valley. There are over 600 nursing homes in New York. Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Center, in West Haverstraw of Rockland County, is the most expensive nursing home in New York.

According to The Buffalo News, Helen Hayes is a 25-bed nursing home that has a five-star rating. In 2017, Helen Hayes, which is a state-run rehabilitation center/nursing home, charged patients an average of $1,929 per day. For comparison, Niagara Rehab charged patients $325 per day in 2017.

While the Hudson Valley wasn't ranked as the most expensive region for nursing home costs, it did come in second. The lower Hudson region was ranked the second most expensive region in New York State for nursing home costs, with an average resident cost of $149,136 annually.
