The Best Cakes In The Hudson Valley Are Made In Newburgh

If you're looking for a great cake, there's a woman in the Hudson Valley who makes the best cakes I've ever had.

Let me just begin by saying it's my opinion that these are the best cakes. No awards have been given, no Buzzfeed stories have been written, no title has officially been handed out. No, I just eat a lot of dessert and know a good cake when I've had one.

There is a woman, named Barbara Baxter, who makes the best cakes EVER. No fancy fondant or anything wild like that, just great cakes and the best buttercream frosting in the world. If you grew up in Newburgh like I did, you know these cakes. You can recognize them amongst any other cake. It's old school baking that has stood the test of time.

I could go on and on about this buttercream frosting. It's sensational. Barbara Baxter made my parents' wedding cake, my communion cake, graduation cake, and everything in between. I was raised on that buttercream.
