A traffic stop on Route 17 in Sullivan County led to the arrest of a couple on multiple drugs and weapons charges.

45-year-old Robert Ballard and Simona Ballard, both of Rock Hill, were pulled over for a traffic stop on Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating. Police allege they found 11 ounces of cocaine, with a street value of $20,000 and, a blackjack inside the vehicle.

State Police later executed a search warrant on the couple’s home on Dartmouth Drive in Rock Hill which revealed an additional quantity of cocaine and approximately 46 grams of heroin, along with two loaded firearms, one of which was defaced.

Both were charged with 1st-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, two counts of 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, class C violent felonies, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and three counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

They were arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
