Ralph H. Hayner, Sr., a Kingston Resident, Dies at 90
Ralph H. Hayner, Sr., 90, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingston. He was born August 18, 1926 in East Kingston, to the late Ralph and Ethel (Miller) Hayner. He was married to Pearl (Ewel) Hayner, who passed away on August 10, 1995. He was in the US Navy, serving during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of Operation.
Ralph was a Senior Engineer for Ulster County Highway Department. He was a life member of Ulster Hose #5, life member of Joyce Schirick Post #1386 VFW, a member of various American Legion posts where he served in leadership as well as a 50 year member of Kingston Masonic Lodge #10 F&AM. In addition to the county he had worked as a Construction Superintendant for Underground Construction, was an inspector for DB Steinman on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, and worked for Callanan Industries. He was a current member of St. Remy Reformed Church.
Ralph is survived by his children, Clara Giancola and her husband Bernard, Patricia Draut, Richard Hayner and his significant other Eileen Osborne, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by sons, Robert Hayner and Ralph Hayner, Jr.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Tuesday May 23rd from 4pm to 8pm. Burial will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY on Wednesday May 24th at 12:30pm.
