
Putnam County Man Arrested Twice in Two Days for Similar Crimes
A Putnam County man was arrested twice during a two day period for committing similar crimes, police say.
Wednesday New York State Police from the Cortlandt responded to 31-year-old Brett Augustowski’s Putnam Valley residence where an investigation revealed he allegedly assaulted a female victim that had an order of protection against him.
Augustowski was charged with 1st-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony.
Police say on Tuesday, Augustowski harassed a victim which violated an order of protection. He was charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor.
Following Wednesday’s arrest, Augustowski was arraigned at the Putnam Valley Town Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is due back in Putnam Town Court on May 31, 2016.
