Poughkeepsie Man Murders Ex-Wife, Police Say
A Poughkeepsie man has been charged with murder, following an investigation into a stabbing in Wappingers.
On Thursday, November 15 at approximately 11:00 p.m. State Police along with emergency medical services, responded to a reported stabbing at a home in the Town of Wappingers in the vicinity of All Angels Hill Road.
Responding units rendered first aid and CPR. However, the victim, 34-year-old Terrie DeGelormo, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of injuries sustained from the assault.
An unknown assailant fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of her ex-husband Timothy Alexander, 32, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Captain John Ryan said:
This was a hearbreaking tragedy, where a young mother lost her life, due to domestic violence.
Alexander was arraigned in the Town of Wappingers Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail on no bail. He is scheduled to return to court this week.
