Popeye’s Officially Sells Out Of Its Chicken Sandwich

The chicken sandwich war is temporarily on hold.

According to CBS News, Popeyes has sold out of its quickly famous chicken sandwich. But not just in the Hudson Valley, they've sold out of it nationwide. The sandwich quickly rose to fame thanks to a Twitter fued between Popeyes and Chick-Fil-A.

CBS News reports that Popeyes disappointed the public by tweeting out on Tuesday, August 27 "Y’all. We love that you love The Sandwich. Unfortunately, we’re sold out (for now)." But they do make mention that the sandwich will eventually be back, and for good. Popeyes expected to have their inventory last through September. Clearly, that didn't happen since the sandwich barely lasted two weeks.

I was one of the poor souls who waited in a 15-minute drive-thru line at Popeyes on Thursday, August 22. No, I didn't even get the chicken sandwich, I just got some much needed fried chicken. But I saw firsthand how ravenous people were for that sandwich.
