Police: Woman Fraudulently Collected Over $7K in SNAP Benefits
An Ulster County woman is facing multiple felonies following an investigation by Social Services.
On August, 24, 2018, Heather Taylor, 42, of Kerhonkson, N.Y. was arrested and charged with the felonies of Welfare Fraud third-degree and three counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing first-degree.
An investigation conducted by the Ulster County Department of Social Services found that Taylor did not disclose her true household composition and income to the Department of Social Services from February 2016 to May 2018.
Taylor filed several SNAP applications with Social Services during that period of time, not disclosing the income, which resulted in her receiving $7,211 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to.
Taylor was processed and issued appearance tickets returnable to Ulster Town Court.
