Police Save Hudson Valley Resident’s Life at Walmart
Police saved the life of a Hudson Valley resident, who was found following a like overdose in a Walmart bathroom.
On Sunday at around 8:45 p.m., Town of Wallkill Officers Brian Burger and Daniel Ward responded to an “EMS” call to the Walmart located at Route 211 East.
Arriving officers found a 33-year-old Warwick resident unconscious in the Walmart restroom. The unnamed victim was unresponsive and demonstrating signs of an overdose, police say.
Officer Christopher Orengo joined to assist Officer Ward to deliver emergency first aid. Department-issued Narcan was used. Narcan is proven to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Shortly after the Narcan was delivered nasally, the 33-year-old Warwick resident began to regain consciousness. The victim was transported by Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Orange Regional Medical Center.
