Two Hudson Valley women have been charged after nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise was taken from a local clothing store.

The Ulster Police Department arrested a woman from Ulster County and an Orange County woman following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint from a Kohl’s clothing store located at 800 Miron Lane in the Town of Ulster.

39-year-old Yolanda Casholle, of Kerhonkson, and Anessa M. Newman, 20, of Wallkill, were both charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, a felony, and 5th-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor.

According to Kohl’s Loss Prevention, Casholle and Newman removed $4,934.73 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it.
Both were arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court and released on their own recognize. They will have to reappear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court at a later date.
