There have been a few questions man has argued about since the beginning of time. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? And of course, is a hot dog considered a sandwich?

I've had this argument with people in the past, and it always boils down to the same thing. They, being wrong, will insist that because a hot dog is meat wedged inside bread, that it is a sandwich. I, being right, will say that's insane and rip the hot dog out of their hand and eat it because they don't deserve it anymore.

Ok, maybe I don't do that (or maybe I do, what I do in my private life is my business). But I now have someone to back me up on this. Joey Chestnut, the competitive eater and reigning hot dog champion who recently won Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest for the 10th time by eating 72 hot dogs in ten minutes, has stated his thoughts that hot dogs are, in fact, not a sandwich.

So there you have it. If there's one person who is an authority on the subject, it's probably the guy who can eat more hot dogs in one minute than I can in a month. What do you guys think? Has this changed your stance on this divisive social issue at all?
