Newburgh NY has been selected along with 9 other municipalities to receive grants from TD Bank and the Arbor Day Foundation. The monies are a part of the 2016 TD Green Streets program, which is in its fourth year.

The purpose of the grant, according to a press release is for up to '$20,000 to fund urban greening projects in under served communities, including tree planting, maintenance costs, and educational activities.'

  • Hollywood, FL
  • Miami, FL
  • New Haven, CT
  • Newburgh, NY
  • Providence, RI
  • Rock Hill, SC
  • Worcester, MA

To be eligible for the grant the municipality had to have already been a part of the Arbor Day Foundations, Tree City USA program.

No word yet as to how the City of Newburgh will be spending their grant monies.
