New York’s Windiest Road Ends Up In The Hudson Valley

With more than 100 curves, New York's windiest road is a fun ride. Did you know that it begins in Hancock and ends up in the Hudson Valley? Route 97 winds it's way 70 miles across New York and makes its way through Delaware, Sullivan and Orange Counties to Port Jervis.

According to OnlyInYourState.com, it takes around an hour and a half to make your way down the whole stretch of road. Not only is it considered to be the states windiest, it's thought to be one of the most scenic.

It opened in 1939 at a cost of $4 million which would have been around $70 million in today's dollars. The route is popular with motorcycle enthusiasts and tourists alike.
