Officials say an unknown medical issue caused a woman to drive into an apartment building in Ulster County.

Tuesday afternoon, 74-year-old Josephine Catone of West Hurley began suffering from an undisclosed medical issue while attempting to park her 2011 Subaru at the Ulster Gardens complex.

Police say the medical issue caused Catone to miss the parking space and continue traveling east until her car ran directly into the apartment building.

Catone was transported to Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley for evaluation. There were other reported injures at the scene, police say.

The apartment complex did sustain some damage but was deemed livable by the Town of Ulster Building Inspector.

At this time no tickets have been issued, but police are continuing to investigate.

The Ulster Police Department was assisted by the, Ulster Hose Fire Department, the Town of Ulster Building Inspector and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
